At yourlifelog, we believe in protecting the privacy of our Members' personal information. This is a legal document that sets out how yourlifelog handles data which identifies you. You should read it in conjunction with the yourlifelog Terms and Conditions of which this Privacy Policy forms part.

Service Emails

yourlifelog will only ever send you emails that we will need to send you to provide you with a quality yourlifelog service. A full list of the types of emails you may receive are shown below:
Welcome email: the email we use to activate your account.
Payment receipt: sent if you upgrade to Classic Membership
Renewal notices: remind you to renew your Classic Membership
Service messages: notify you about changes to the service
Message notification: when you receive messages or contributions from members.
Suspension notice: if you breach the Terms and Conditions
Unsuitable photographs or multimedia files:when you upload an unsuitable document.
Technical support email: if you have difficulties

Registering Information

When you register for the yourlifelog Service, you provide your name, your email address, your gender, first part of postcode and date of birth. They are available to you, and capable of being changed, through the “My Profile” page.
Cookies. We use small files known as "cookies" to enhance users experience of the yourlifelog Service as follows:
· To achieve maximum use of the yourlifelog Service by Members, by means of a temporary "session" cookie. These cookies disappear when the Member's browser session ends, or if the Member clicks the "logoff" text which appears on the yourlifelog Service.
· You may have your registration details and any other information included in the site removed at any time. To remove yourself please email us via the contact us page and we will remove all such information.

Use of Personal information

yourlifelog Principles.
We use Paypal to process our credit card payments. They operate a secure server to process our credit card payments. They encrypt Members' credit or debit card information and authorise payment directly. This means that Members' full credit card details are never revealed to us. Paypal may transfer to, process and hold your credit card information in countries either within or outside the European Economic Area in connection with performing their duties.
We and our credit card processing agents will not supply your personal data to a third party for commercial exploitation. You can be assured that we do not and will not sell lists of our Members' email addresses to any third party.
· The only circumstances in which we will provide any of your personal data to a third party for non-commercial purposes are those contained in this Privacy Policy.
· The details you provide on Registration are only available to you, except that your name, date of birth and gender are searchable by other Members. Your email address is never revealed.
· We do not directly make your email address available to anyone on any screen of the yourlifelog Service. The only legitimate way of making contact with a Member on the yourlifelog Service is for a Classic Member to enter a message that we will send on the Member's behalf. The member can collect the email when logged in to the yourlifelog Service. Members may check and (if required) change the email address we hold for them at any time through “My Profile”. Members' personal notes must not include their email address. Sent and received email may appear in a Member's Inbox on the yourlifelog Service for 30 days before deletion.
· The yourlifelog Service may include interactive advertising for other businesses. We may use and provide to third parties, anonymous demographic data provided by Members to target this advertising more appropriately.
· We may share data supplied by you with our subsidiaries and other companies in our group, but only for the purposes described in this policy.
· If all of the assets which yourlifelog uses to operate its business (or substantially all of them) are acquired by a third party, we may transfer personal data we then hold to that party so that the acquirer can continue to provide the yourlifelog Service.
· The personal information held by us is held on and processed by computers situated in the United Kingdom.

Security

We have security measures in place to protect our customer database and access to this database is restricted internally. However, it remains each Member's responsibility:
· to protect against unauthorised access to Your Details;
· to ensure no-one else uses the yourlifelog Service on that Member’s machine while it is "logged on" to the yourlifelog Service;
· to log off or exit from the yourlifelog Service when not using it; and
· to keep his/her password secret.
Disclosure for legal reasons
We reserve the right to communicate such of a Member's personal information as we hold to third parties which seek the disclosure of it, and which make a legally compliant request for its disclosure.
Data Retention and Data Protection
We will retain your personal data only as long as is necessary for the purposes to which you consent under the yourlifelog Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy, or as is required by applicable law, and then we will delete it.

Changes to this Privacy Policy
If we change this Privacy Policy, we will notify you of the changed document in the same way as we notify changes to the yourlifelog Terms and Conditions.
